What is the I Ching?
The I Ching (易經), also known as the "Book of Changes," is one of humanity's oldest texts, originating from China over 3,000 years ago. It is a philosophical system that combines cosmology, philosophy, and symbolic consultation, offering guidance through 64 hexagrams that represent different life situations.

Each hexagram is composed of six lines that can be yin (broken) or yang (solid), creating a total of 64 possible combinations that represent different aspects of human experience.

Before submitting a custom consultation, you choose one of three modes. Each one changes how the Portal delivers the answer — from the most reflective (with your active participation) to the most direct (no AI, for those who already interpret hexagrams).

RecommendedThe richest flow: before the final answer, the I Ching presents the reading in thematic dimensions (central theme, additional perspectives and, when there are moving lines, the transformation dimension). You tap the points in each reading that resonated (or not) with you, and the AI uses that to calibrate the final answer — amplifying what landed, without discarding the rest. It also includes an exclusive section, "Conclusions from your Ratings".
Use when: you want a deeper, more personalized reading or are willing to reflect before receiving the consolidated answer.

Straight to the pointThe AI generates the full interpretation directly, without the hypothesis stage. You receive the same complete response structure — Trends, Moving Line, Comments, Clear and Practical Guidance, Final Synthesis — but without calibration based on your ratings.
Use when: you need the answer quickly, or you already know the topic well and want to skip the rating phase.
🧩 Concise answer
No AINo AI interpretation. The Portal shows the original hexagram, any moving lines, and the resulting hexagram — and it is up to you to read them. The minimum question length is reduced to 8 characters (vs. 16 in the other modes). You can use your credit as Clarification because there is no initially generated interpretive context.
Use when: you already study the I Ching and prefer to interpret the symbols without AI mediation.
Important Tips
Ask one question at a time: To get clearer guidance, focus on one specific question per consultation.
Be patient: The I Ching offers guidance, but action and responsibility always remain with you.
Reflect on the results: Take time to meditate on the guidance received before making important decisions.
Use wisely: The I Ching is a guidance tool, not a substitute for common sense and personal responsibility.

After making your consultation, the I Ching Portal presents a complete and structured response. Understand each section of the result:

Clarification Panel
After the resultAfter receiving the result, you can ask deepening questions directly about the reading. The first clarification is always free; subsequent ones consume 1 credit each.

Your record
Every paid consultation goes into your record — the page where you see what you still have to use and can re-read your recent readings. Re-reading is temporary: each reading stays available for 30 days and then leaves the list; to keep it with no deadline, save the PDF on the result screen. You get there through the notebook icon on the portal bar, or the button at the end of this section.
What you find there
- •One block per activated coupon, with how many consultations it brought and how many are left.
- •Your recent readings, with the question and the day — click to reopen and re-read at no credit cost.
- •Each coupon's closed account: what came in, what was used and what remains.
Two different terms
This is the distinction that causes the most confusion: the credit and the reading have their own terms, counted from different dates.
90 days
Counted from the day you activated the coupon.
This is how long you have to USE the coupon's consultations. Once the term passes, whatever went unused lapses — and the coupon stays in your record, showing that openly.
30 days
Counted from the day of each consultation, one by one.
This is how long the reading stays available for you to reopen. After that it leaves the list — the credit does not come back, because it was spent on the consultation, not on the re-reading.
In other words: your credit can still be valid for new consultations long after an older reading has left the list. They are separate clocks.
What the e-mail adds
Without an e-mail, your record lives on this device and this browser — clearing the site data, or switching phones, means losing access to it. With your e-mail kept, the record becomes yours rather than the device's: you sign in from anywhere and find the same balance and the same readings.
To keep it, use "Keep with my e-mail" on your record page. To sign in on another device, use "Sign in": enter the same e-mail and the 4-digit code we send you. There is no password and no sign-up.

About the I Ching Center Project
I Ching Center is a modern application that combines the ancient wisdom of the I Ching with contemporary technology. Developed to offer guidance and insights through interactive consultations and detailed interpretations.
The system uses advanced algorithms to generate unique consultations based on click coordinates, ensuring that each consultation is personalized and meaningful.
The Portal was developed by Harry Cerqueira, an I Ching student since 2002 and disciple of Masters Wu Jyh Cherng (in memoriam) and Wagner Canalonga, priests of the Taoist Society of Brazil and Taoist Society of São Paulo, respectively.
