The six lines
Line 1. Join the people at the gate. No blame. Begin alliances in a public and straightforward manner. Transparency at the outset prevents misunderstandings.
Line 2. To unite with those of one's own clan. Regrettable. Avoid cliques and favoritism. Expand the alliance beyond the inner circle.
Line 3. Hidden weapons in the grass; ascend the hill. Three years without progress. Do not provoke premature conflict. If the terrain is unfavorable, hold your position and avoid unnecessary strain.
Line 4. On the wall; unable to attack. Auspicious. When clarity is absent, do not force victory. Prudence is now your best ally.
Line 5. In union, first cries and tears; then laughter. Great armies meet and prevail. Endure the initial friction. Persevere in dialogue until cooperation is established and joint action prevails.
Line 6. To unite with people in the open fields. No regret. Seek broad and inclusive alliances. True communion transcends boundaries and avoids regrets.
