Classical meaning

It is favorable for the perseverance of the woman.

家人。利女貞。

Image: The wind arises from the fire: the image of the family. Thus, the noble possesses substance in his words and firmness in his conduct.

It addresses the internal organization, relationships, and ethics of the household.

The six lines

Line 1. The Family – Contain the house from the beginning. Regret disappears. Establish discipline and proper boundaries from the outset. This prevents future disappointments.
Line 2. The Family – No path for advancement. Remaining at the center of the home and attending to the meal is favorable. Fulfilling simple and essential responsibilities brings harmony. Daily duty sustains order.
Line 3. The Family – Harsh voices in the house bring regret and danger, but ultimately, auspiciousness. If the wife and children laugh frivolously, it brings dishonor. Avoid extremes of harshness or frivolity. Family harmony arises from the balance between firmness and joy.
Line 4. The Family – Great fortune in a prosperous household. Prosperity must serve the well-being of all. Sharing with fairness strengthens bonds.
Line 5. The Family – The king exercises his authority over the household. There is no concern; it is auspicious. Exercise authority with righteousness and care. The firm guidance of the leader ensures stability for all.
Line 6. The Family – Trust and reverence generate authority. In the end, auspicious. Cultivate trust and respect to maintain harmony. True authority arises from recognized integrity.
